Grounding Yourself in Truth

I want to give you an example of what truth sounds like in the modern world. The example I'm going to give you happens on a daily basis and once you read this, you're reticular activator will hone in, on it like a beacon, whenever you hear something similar. This could actually prevent you from spreading rumors that you don't know are true for a fact.

You're at work, and one of your coworkers just got through reading some news on the computer. She walks up to you and seems to be very upset, she tells you that they have just found Jesus's body and it has been preserved perfectly for over 2000 years. The news article stated, that with this evidence, they will be able to guarantee, through his DNA, if there are any people that are direct descendents of him and what nationality he was.

After a while, everyone in the office is talking about it, this could change our lives forever, what if they find out the Jesus was actually a black woman. Some of the hypothetical situations that people create in their mind, often create suggestive thought to others, who in turn create more hypothetical situations and before you know it you've got and epidemic news crisis frenzy on your hands.

In a situation like this we tend to assume as more people make assumptions, pretty soon we have created what sounds like a reasonably true story and now we can write it down in the history books. But were missing one very important point, the factual information is missing. The truth is missing and we base the parts of the story that aren't very clear on circumstantial evidence.
